A 15-year-old girl was arrested on assault and other charges following a group attack in an In-N-Out Burger parking lot in Gilbert, Arizona, on Saturday night, officials said.
Gilbert police responded to reports of a fight involving multiple teen girls around 11:30 p.m. at the In-N-Out at Williams Field Road and Market Street, authorities told The Arizona Republic. Officers arrived, took witness statements, and gathered evidence, including video.
Several videos of the brawl posted to social media show a chaotic scene where one girl is pushed to the ground while three others punch her and pull her hair, the newspaper reported.
One video captured the moments just before the attack, showing the victim smiling before her attackers blindsided her.
The incident has drawn heightened concern as it closely resembles the tactics used by the “Gilbert Goons,” a teen gang known for recording and publicizing their blitz-style assaults in parks and parking garages.
The In-N-Out on Market Street has been a frequent location for these attacks, with at least seven previous beatings documented there through videos and police records, according to The Republic.
In a news release on Sunday, the Gilbert Police Department stated that violence would not be tolerated.
“Preventing youth violence requires shared responsibility and a united effort,” the statement read. “We ask all families to help us by reinforcing accountability at home and encouraging safe, respectful behavior among our youth.”
