EXCLUSIVE: Wyncor, which was founded by a judge on the French Shark Tank, has become the latest global toy firm to enter the original IP game, hiring TV industry sales vet Erick Rouillé to lead the push.
In a world of Barbie and Polly Pocket adaptations, Wyncor is coming to market with its Kwaaks! plush duck toys and has forged a “content roadmap” that includes short-form animations for YouTube and TikTok, serialized animated series, and accessible mobile and web-based games.
The firm, which was founded three years ago by Julian Jacob, will then focus on transforming other toy brands into animated and live-action series, digital shorts, casual and mobile games, and immersive formats designed for today’s digitally native generation.
As Vice President of Global Distribution, Rouillé will lead the global rollout from next month. Based out of Paris, Rouillé has more than 30 years experience in international TV sales, brand management and licensing, having worked for The Walt Disney Company and DreamWorks Animation. He was most recently at French major Mediawan, where he was SVP Global Distribution & Consumer Products.
Jacob said Wyncor will be “expanding its team significantly in the coming months.”
“We are really proud to welcome Erick as we accelerate the global rollout of Wyncor’s original IP. His leadership will be key in meeting the growing demand for our content, created to entertain kids and families around the world,” he added. “As we take our storytelling ambitions to the next level, Erick is the ideal person to lead this charge.”
Jacob founded Wyncor in 2022. He is a judge on Qui veut être mon associé, the French version of Shark Tank AKA Dragons’ Den. Wyncor calls itself the “world’s first ‘Toystech’ company” and has offices in France, Spain, China, the UK, the U.S., Japan, and Latin America.
