HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Free 2 Teach is now open for the 2025-26 school year, and to celebrate, a local car dealership gave the organization a significant gift.

On July 7, Free 2 Teach opened its doors for the school year, welcoming 135 teachers. A gift of $80,000 was also presented by Landers McClarty Subaru as part of their Subaru Share the Love event.

“Subaru is making an incredible investment in the thousands of teachers and children we serve at Free 2 Teach,” shares Free 2 Teach CEO Alison Kling. “To open for the school year with this transformational gift and powerful partnership with Frank Williams and the entire Landers McLarty Subaru team is inspiring. Together, we are impacting children by investing in their teachers.”

The Subaru Share the Love is a national giving program that has raised over $320 million over the last 18 years.

“We are so impressed by the work and vision of the team at Free 2 Teach and honored topartner with them as part of Subaru Share the Love campaign,” shares Frank Williams,Managing Partner and Executive Manager for Landers McLarty. “I am proud to partner with anorganization dedicated to providing teachers with the tools they need to inspire children in ourpublic schools.”

“This is a community-powered mission. And I think that’s a key part of it, is that we’re bringing, you know, thousands of people together to impact public education. And Subaru is a great example of that,” Kling said.

The free store is open 11 months out of the year to teachers in all five school systems in Limestone and Madison Counties. The organization has given away over $14.7 million in supplies.
