Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt’s family is mourning their 9-year-old cousin killed in the devastating Texas floods.

Clark’s wife, Tavia Hunt, took to Instagram to announce the tragic loss of their minor cousin, Janie Hunt, who was attending Camp Mystic when the floodwaters from the Guadalupe River ravaged through on July 4.

“Our hearts are broken by the devastation from the floods in Wimberley and the tragic loss of so many lives — including a precious little Hunt cousin, along with several friend’s little girls,” she wrote on Saturday.

“How do we trust a God who is supposed to be good, all knowing and all powerful, but who allows such terrible things to happen — even to children?” Tavia, 53, added.

“That is a sacred and tender question — and one the Bible doesn’t shy away from. Scripture is filled with the cries of those whose hearts have been shattered, who still wrestle to trust the same God they believe allowed the pain.”

According to The Post, Janie was the great-granddaughter of late billionaire William Herbert Hunt, who was the brother of Chiefs founder Lamar Hunt. Lamar was Clark’s father.

The New York Times reported that Janie was attending the all-girls Christian camp for the first time. She attended along with six of her cousins, who were safe in the floods.

On Monday, Camp Mystic announced in a heartbreaking statement that 27 campers and counselors were confirmed dead in the flash floods.

“Our hearts are broken alongside our families that are enduring this unimaginable tragedy. We are praying for them constantly,” the camp posted on its website.

“We ask for your continued prayers, respect and privacy for each of our families affected. May the Lord continue to wrap His presence around all of us.”
