With several more inches of rain expected in Central Texas on Sunday, search and rescue crews continued to hunt for victims of flash flooding along the Guadalupe River. Eleven campers and one counselor from Camp Mystic, a girls’ summer camp in Kerr County that was hit early on July 4, were still unaccounted for on Sunday, according to Larry Leitha, the county sheriff. As of midday Sunday, floods in the region had claimed at least 69 lives.
President Trump said he had signed a disaster declaration for Kerry County, Texas. “These families are enduring an unimaginable tragedy, with many lives lost, and many still missing,” he wrote on social media.
