A hit-and-run left a person dead in Paramount overnight.
The crash occurred on Alondra Boulevard at Garfield Street around 2 a.m. Sunday, preliminary information indicates.
Details surrounding the crash remain limited; however, video from the scene obtained by KTLA shows that it involved a pickup truck and a sedan. Both vehicles sustained significant damage.
The driver of the sedan was killed as a result of the crash. They were preliminarily identified by detectives at the scene as a man in his 60s who was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
According to initial reports, the driver of the Dodge Ram pickup fled the scene on foot after the collision and as of 11 a.m. Sunday, had yet to be found. A suspect description has also yet to be released.
It is also unknown what caused the two vehicles to collide or whether impairment was involved.
KTLA 5’s Jennifer McGraw reported that family members and loved ones had been out at the crash site throughout the morning. Investigators were also seen in the area searching for evidence; there are several businesses in the area which may have captured the crash on their security cameras.
The pickup truck was seen being towed from the scene around 10 a.m. Sunday.
KTLA has reached out to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for more information on the incident.
