Max Verstappen Reveals Red Bull Balance Struggles Ahead Of British GP

Red Bull is still sorting out the issues with the RB21, and extra testing on the car has led to driver Max Verstappen struggling to control the car consistently.

At the British Grand Prix, during Free Practice 1 and 2, Verstappen finished 10th and 5th, respectively.

Red Bull is known for starting slow over a race weekend, but ramping it up during qualifying and the race, though Verstappen sounded more downbeat than usual after Friday’s session at the British GP.

“For me personally, today wasn’t a great day and it was difficult to find much balance in the car and in the corners,” Verstappen told the media.

“The wind affects things quite a lot, but that, of course, is not an excuse as you just have to deal with it. It is not easy, but it is the same situation for everyone.

“Every weekend is a bit different and you have to adapt to the changing conditions and scenarios but our car does seem pretty sensitive to the wind this week.”

The four-time champion did not finish the race in Austria, was the runner-up in Canada, and finished P10 in Spain.

Those results do not tell the full story of the team’s struggles. Verstappen has pulled out some Dutch magic in the car, but even he has limits to his ability to drag a car up the grid.

Despite the doom-and-gloom from Verstappen, there is still time for him and the team to turn things around. It is not out of the norm for the team to get some more performance heading into qualifying.

“Looking to tomorrow, we can analyze our data and try and look at what we can do to improve, but I think overall we have just been lacking a bit of performance,” Verstappen added.

Red Bull is looking for solutions to its car issues. The RB21 is challenging to set up, and the team has encountered issues getting it to operate in an ideal manner.

The conditions on the track drastically hamper the car’s performance. The same goes for its set-up.

The team spends a lot of time refining the setup to give the drivers as much comfort in the cockpit as possible.

Verstappen can cope with the car’s issues, but if it continues to give him fits, it might end up being another disappointing weekend for the title hopeful.
