DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) — The Alabama Department of Transportation announced that the State Route-67 resurfacing project is moving to its next phase in Decatur, resurfacing between Danville Road and SR-24/Gordon Terry Parkway.

According to ALDOT, after the completion of all through lanes between US-31/Sixth Avenue and Danville Road, contractor Grayson Carter and Son Contracting may begin patching and milling operations on the northern segment of the project.

Simultaneously, the contractor will continue paving intersections, crossovers and turn lanes on the southern segment of the project.

Drivers should expect lane closures from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly, Sunday nights through Thursday nights. A minimum of one lane in each direction will remain open.

ALDOT is advising drivers to slow down in the work zone and remain cautious when crossing at intersections or entering turn lanes and crossovers. Additionally, traffic signals may experience disruptions to normal operations during the resurfacing process.

ALDOT anticipates completion of the $3.3 million, five-mile project in early fall.
