MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WHNT) — Chris Rush, President of Marshall Medical Centers, has been appointed to the Alabama Hospital Association Board of Trustees, representing the Association’s North Regional Council.

“Chris brings a wealth of experience in healthcare leadership, both in Alabama and beyond,” said Donald E. Williamson, MD, President of the Alabama Hospital Association. “His perspective, energy, and dedication to improving healthcare delivery will be a valuable addition to our Board as we continue addressing the needs of hospitals and patients throughout the state.”

Rush became President of Marshall Medical Centers in February 2022, after serving as Vice President of the Huntsville Hospital Health System’s Physician Network, where he oversaw more than 200 physicians across 30 locations. Before that, he was CEO and Administrator of Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi—a hospital founded by his great-grandfather.

Rush, a graduate from Wofford University, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, holds master’s degrees in both International Relations and Business Administration from American University in Washington, D.C.

He is known for his thoughtful leadership style and deep commitment to advancing healthcare access and quality, particularly in community-based settings.

As a member of the Board of Trustees, Rush will represent hospitals in the North Regional Council, helping to shape policy priorities and provide strategic guidance to support member hospitals across the region.

Founded in 1921, the Alabama Hospital Association is a statewide trade organization that assists member hospitals in effectively serving Alabama’s healthcare needs through advocacy, representation, education, and service.

The announcement was made during the Board of Trustee’s recent annual meeting. This marks his second term serving in this capacity.
