Julian McMahon, known for his roles on the popular shows “Nip/Tuck” and “Charmed,” has died following a private battle with cancer. He was 56.

His wife, Kelly McMahon, confirmed his death on Friday, telling Deadline that the actor passed “peacefully” in Clearwater, Fla., on Wednesday after a “valiant effort to overcome” his illness.

“Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible,” Kelly shared, before asking fans for “support” to “allow [their] family to grieve in privacy.”

“And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy, to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories,” she concluded.

She did not disclose the specific cancer the actor was fighting.

Page Six reached out to his rep for comment, but did not immediately receive a response.

Julian started his acting career as a lead character on the Australian daytime soap “The Power, the Passion” in 1989.

He went on to land his first feature film role in 1992’s “Wet and Wild Summer!” alongside Elliott Gould.

Following stints on NBC’s soap opera “Another World” and crime drama “Profiler,” Julian nabbed a recurring role as Cole Turner on the supernatural drama series “Charmed.”

But his turn as Dr. Christian Troy on Ryan Murphy’s FX series “Nip/Tuck” would ultimately make him a household name.

In 2005, he earned a Golden Globe nomination for his performance on the series. The show ran for six seasons.

On the big screen, McMahon starred as the villain Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom in Tim Story’s first “Fantastic Four” movie in 2005.

He reprised the role two years later for the film’s 2007 sequel, “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.”
