EXCLUSIVE: The Mandalorian and Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. actor Simon Kassianides is set to direct The Walker, a psychological thriller he also wrote and will produce through his Cyprus-based company, Plot Monster Productions, in partnership with fellow Cyprus-based banner Copper Island.
The film is being co-produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production (WBITVP) Sweden, with US strategy and packaging led by Roserock Films.
Set in Dublin, the film is about a local detective who works with a British profiler to hunt down what appears to be a serial killer. The more they investigate, the more it begins to look like there might be some truth behind the British profiler’s paranoia that some immortal evil entity is behind the evil that men do.
Production is slated to begin this winter in Dublin. Casting discussions are underway. Kassianides is joined by producer Oliver Lowry. Matt Murphie, David Mansfield and Luke Bouchier are producing for Copper Island. Johan Hedman and Sofie Palage produce for WBITVP Sweden.
Kassianides has had supporting roles in series such as The Mandalorian and Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. and movies Unforgettable and Quantum Of Solace.
