Queen Maxima of the Netherlands denied allegations that she was “mocking” President Trump in front of cameras at last week’s NATO summit in The Hague.

The Queen claimed she was not poking fun at the president in the widely scrutinized moment, but was thanking someone off camera.

“I said ‘thank you’ to someone who had helped,” she told Dutch news outlet AD.

She said her interactions with the president during his visit were a “pleasant experience.”

A split-second moment spotted by internet sleuths as Maxima stood beside Trump and her husband King Willem-Alexander shows her to appear to move her mouth like the president when he speaks as they made small talk.

CNN editor Vani Mehrotra said in a X post that “Queen Maxima of the Netherlands is believed to be mocking Donald Trump.”

Another netizen thought Maxima was making a “hilarious” dig at Trump.

“I’ve never been a fan of our stiff monarchy, but Queen Maxima rocks it! Treat him like a baby,” they posted.
