What to Watch in July 2025: Bachelor in Paradise Is the Summer Relief We Need

Bachelor in Paradise returns after taking last summer off (the most recent season aired from September thru December 2023), and it couldn’t come at a better time. After Grant’s snoozer of a journey (which recently ended in him splitting with Juliana), Paradise is exactly what we need to bring the fun back to the franchise, especially now that the Golden contestants are also taking over the beach.

Jesse Palmer returns as host, Wells Adams is back mixing drinks as bartender, and Hannah Brown heads up the newly-formed Paradise Relations, but it’s April and Kathy coming back together as one half of the ASKN ladies that I’m most excited about. Plus, add in some of Jenn Tran’s most talked-about men, as well as Dale Moss from Clare Crawley’s season, and we have what should amount to the most entertaining season in a long time. In fact, when Jesse Palmer was recently on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, he said, “It’s actually the Goldens who I think infused the most energy in the show. I’m not taking a shot at a younger cast. But after a couple of days of shooting, you kind of start getting comfortable…you start coupling up, and…it feels like they’re off edge a little bit. But the Goldens bring it every single day.”

But before we move on to what else is coming this month, I have some new intel to share, straight from Paradise Relations (well, in this case, it’s the official ABC Bachelor Relations department), who tell Glamour that the coming season will turn up the heat with chemistry tests that go beyond surface level attraction. The first test will put personality in the spotlight by challenging the beachgoers to connect without relying on looks. Life-sized silhouettes of each beachgoer will be placed throughout the grounds, each one featuring bold and surprising facts. As the group explores, they’ll “like” or “dislike” each silhouette based only on the info provided. In the end, the identities behind the silhouettes are revealed, which are bound to shake up early connections and spark new interest. And, just when the contestants think they’ve met everyone, one silhouette unveils a mystery man no one saw coming.

The other big premiere this month is the final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty on Prime Video. You know the drill: expect Belly to be confused over brothers Conrad and Jeremiah while you wish you lived on Cousins Beach. And then repeat and enjoy.

Later in July, two of the funniest women around hit Hulu and Netflix, respectively, with their own shows. First up: comedian Zarna Garg debuts her Hulu stand-up special on July 18. If you can’t get enough of Garg’s hilarious comedy on Instagram and TikTok, then you’ll love her new special. At 50, Garg has never been hotter (she also has a CBS pilot in the works with Mindy Kaling executive-producing.). Then there’s Leanne Morgan, the (also) hilarious stand-up comedian (and recent guest co-host on NBC’s Jenna & Friends), who gets the sitcom treatment with her new 16-episode Netflix comedy, Leanne. If you loved Reba (which you can also catch on Netflix), then Leanne is right up your alley. We’ll have interviews with both women timed to their show debuts this month.

And Just Like That… airs another talker of an episode this Thursday, July 3 on Max, and you won’t want to miss the last 10 minutes. Sarah Jessica Parker and Kristin Davis will share their thoughts on what happens, alongside director and writer, Julie Rottenberg, so check for those interviews once the episode ends Thursday night.

With that, check out the rest of the offerings this month (there’s some great documentaries on the horizon, Wimbledon over on ESPN, plus the return of Shark Week and Sharkfest), and I’ll see you back here in August to preview Freakier Friday, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, and more.
