GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Guntersville Police Department is reminding drivers of numerous no parking zones ahead of the July 4 weekend.

According to Guntersville Police, the no parking zones includes parking on the side of Sunset Drive between the intersection of Willow Beach Road and AL-69.

Here is an additional list of information regarding parking ahead of the July 4 weekend.

  • Bill Moore Baseball Field Parking Lot: The entire parking lot between Bill Moore and Wedgeworth baseball fields will be closed to the public because the fireworks will be launched from there.
  • Warrenton Causeway and River Bridge: No parking is allowed in the medians of the Warrenton Causeway or the River Bridge.
  • Resident’s Yards: Do not park in resident’s yards unless you have obtained permission from the property owner.
  • Obstructing Traffic: Vehicles parked on the side of the road that impede traffic will be towed.
  • Reserved Parking: There is no reserved parking available. Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so it’s recommended to arrive early.

Police said that they will be out in the area and if a vehicle is seen parked improperly, officers will attempt to locate the owner.

If for some reason the owner can’t be found, the vehicle will be towed at the owner’s expense.
