Rihanna’s latest maternity look pays homage to her first go-around.
On June 28, the “Diamonds” singer attended the Smurfs global premiere in Belgium with her partner, A$AP Rocky. Rihanna, of course, voices Smurfette in the film and recorded the new track “Friend of Mine” for its soundtrack. Remember when you all asked for new music? Well, Rihanna delivered!
She also delivered on the blue carpet, arriving in a custom Chanel set featuring a sheer blue babydoll top with a rosette detail and feather trim, which matched her maxi skirt and satin blue heels. To compliment the blue cotton candy tones of the ensemble, Rihanna wore her hair in a sweet half-up do, leaving out face-framing sections that were parted down the middle and swept towards her ears.
The entire ensemble feels like a sugary take on her most iconic maternity look ever. Back in March 2022, Rihanna practically broke the internet by wearing a sheer Dior teddy dress over black lacy lingerie to Paris Fashion Week while pregnant with her first son, RZA. With her hair pulled back in a sleek half-up do, she toughened up the lacy garments with a black leather jacket, patent leather boots, and plenty of silver and diamond jewelry.
This time around, she softened everything up and kept her jewelry minimal, aside from earrings and a giant Marli diamond ring on that finger. (Consider this your reminder that Rocky has been referring to RiRi as his “wife” during interviews, concerts, and in his lyrics since 2023.)
The 37-year-old entertainer and entrepreneur is currently pregnant with their third child, which she announced at the 2025 Met Gala in May. The couple already shares two sons, three-year-old RZA and 22-month-old Riot Rose, who just made his own Paris Fashion Week debut on June 27.
Though Rihanna has delivered countless memorable pregnancy looks before and after that Dior show in 2022, that black teddy dress was a defining moment that changed the way our culture views maternity style—and it very much deserved a callback to mark its three-year anniversary.
