As training camp looms, the New York Giants find themselves find themselves linked to one of their former stars. Amid recent pandering online, one analyst made a case for the franchise reuniting with Odell Beckham Jr. before the former champion hangs it up.

The reunion chatter began when Beckham was in New York for “Fanatic Fest.” During an interview, a fan yelled out from the crowd telling him to go back to the Giants. Instead of dismissing it, he responded with “I got you” and sent the crowd into a frenzy.

After OBJ’s comments got the internet buzzing about him suiting up for New York again, he proceeded to add fuel to the fire. A few days later, he posted a photo of him and his son sitting together outside of MetLife Stadium. As expected, this only got fans riled up more with him still being on the free-agent market.

Amid all this discourse, Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports wrote a column breaking down the best fits for Beckham Jr. ahead of the 2025 season. Given their current situation at quarterback, the Giants were among the teams brought up.

“Besides Beckham and a handful of current Giants teasing the possibility of a reunion tour, this actually makes some sense. ‘OBJ’ is still a fan favorite among contingents of Giants faithful for the spunky playmaking that made him an NFL phenom at the start of his career,” Benjamin wrote. “And some added receiver depth couldn’t hurt behind returning starters Nabers and Darius Slayton. If coach Brian Daboll is trying to squeeze what he can out of Russell Wilson before turning to Jaxson Dart under center, Beckham registers as a decent low-risk gamble to give New York another set of proven hands off the bench.”

Beckham is far from the player he used to be, but could still be impactful in the right role. Also, with promising wideouts in Darius Slayton and Malik Nabers, New York wouldn’t have to ask much of OBJ. He could be a red zone target for Russell Wilson while also mentoring the Giants’ offensive weapons of the future.

Seeing that this is a bit of a stopgap year for the Giants, bringing in OBJ for a reunion tour before he retires could be a feel-good story that also yields positive dividends on the field.
