HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party is reacting after a threatening and vulgar graffiti was sprayed on the side of a venue set to host an event with Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene and Moms for Liberty.
ALGOP Chairman John Wahl said the graffiti used vulgar language to threaten the Georgia congresswoman and the group.
Moms For Liberty in Madison County is set to host Greene as the keynote speaker for their annual dinner on June 28. The event is set to take place at the Brewer’s Cooperative at Stovehouse.
“This kind of hate-filled rhetoric is both disgusting and deeply troubling. It has no place in a society that stands for the values of freedom, civility, and respect,” Wahl said. “When someone vandalizes a venue with a message calling for people to be shot simply because of their beliefs, that’s not a protest—it’s political terrorism.”
The chairman said he felt the message was not an act of protest but intimidation.
The Huntsville Police Department issued a statement regarding the incident Friday, saying they are investigating.
“The Huntsville Police Department is investigating a case of vandalism involving vulgar and offensive graffiti discovered at Stovehouse on Friday, June 27.
This incident goes beyond simple property damage – it’s a calculated act intended to provoke and offend, and it has no place in our community. HPD takes these matters seriously and is actively working to identify those responsible and hold them accountable. Anyone with information is urged to contact HPD at 256-427-7114 or submit an anonymous tip through Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers at 256-53-CRIME.”
