The Phoenix Suns have made their third trade of the day ahead of the second round of the 2025 NBA Draft.
The Suns have acquired the No. 31 pick from the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for the No. 36 and two future second-round picks.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are trading the first pick in tonight’s NBA draft — No. 31 — to the Phoenix Suns for No. 36 and two future second-round picks, sources tell ESPN. Suns continue rebuild by moving up to 31 and 41 in draft — send out 36, 52, 59 and two future seconds.

With the No. 31 pick in the draft, the Suns went with Saint Joseph’s junior forward Rasheer Fleming. Viewed as one of the more polished prospects in the class, Fleming brings real two-way upside and could be ready to contribute sooner rather than later.
The 20-year-old put together a strong junior campaign, averaging 14.7 points, 8.5 boards, 1.3 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game.
Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman called his wingspan “eye-opening” for someone measuring 6-foot-8 and 232 pounds without shoes — a physical profile that makes him a fascinating addition early in the second round.
“That physical profile, plus a shooting stroke that connected on 62 threes (39.0 percent) will generate interest from a number of teams in the mid-to-late first round,” Wasserman wrote. “We’ve heard from scouts who think he’s going to go earlier than many initially expected.”
As for the Timberwolves, they traded the No. 36 pick to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers selected Arkansas forward Adou Thiero. The Timberwolves then acquired the No. 45 pick that was originally held by the Chicago Bulls.
With that pick, the Timberwolves selected Australian big man Rocco Zikarsky. The 7-foot-3 center brings elite size and intriguing upside to Minnesota’s frontcourt.
Zikarsky boasts a towering 9-foot-6.5 standing reach and shows flashes of defensive promise, making him an appealing long-term piece. Though once projected as a potential first-rounder, he slid a bit due to inconsistent performances throughout the year.
While still raw in terms of skill development, his physical tools are undeniable. He joins fellow first-round pick Joan Beringer as part of a youth movement at center for the Timberwolves — a swing at long-term interior depth.
