DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A Marshall County man accused of sexually abusing a child younger than 12-years-old has been arrested.
On Monday, June 23, an Investigator with DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a deputy who had responded to a home in Marshall County regarding a five- year-old being sexually assaulted last month in DeKalb County.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Ricardo Nicolas Tomas, 19, of Boaz.
DCSO said that Tomas was taken to the DeKalb County Investigation Office and was interviewed by investigators.
Investigators told News 19 that Tomas admitted to sexually assaulting the five-year-old.
He was arrested and booked into DeKalb County Detention Center and is currently being held on a $50,000 cash bond.
Tomas was charged with Sex Abuse – Child Less Than 12.
