Funeral services will be held Thursday for Baldwin Park Police Officer Samuel Riveros, who was killed in the line of duty while responding to a call last month.
“With love and gratitude, the Baldwin Park Police Department would like to share the details of the upcoming funeral services for Officer Samuel Riveros,” the Baldwin Park Police Department stated in its Facebook post.
The services, which will be closed to the public, will begin at 10 a.m. in Ontario.
The Police Department requested that flower deliveries be sent directly to the Toyota Arena at 4000 East Ontario Center Parkway, Ontario, CA 91764.
Deliveries will be accepted until 9 a.m. on the day of the service.
“We are grateful for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers from the community, our brothers and sisters in blue. Thank you for standing with us as we honor the memory of Officer Riveros,” the post reads.
Riveros, 35, was fatally shot while engaging a man firing a rifle in a neighborhood near the 4200 block of Filhurst Avenue on May 31.
He is survived by his parents, siblings, niece, and nephews.
“Our hearts are with his family and friends during this difficult time,” the Police Department stated.
