Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy is swinging back into theaters starting Sept. 26.

Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man journey is hitting the big screen again as part of Fathom Entertainment’s Fathom Fan Favorites special event in collaboration with Sony Pictures. Spider-Man (2002) will hit theaters first, not only on Sept. 26, but also on Oct. 3. Spider-Man 2.1 extended cut will make its theatrical debut on Sept. 27 and Oct. 4, with the film getting a gorgeous 4K upscale, followed by 2007’s Spider-Man 3 on Sept. 28 and Oct. 5.

Spider-Man 2.1 was previously only made available on DVD in 2007. The extended cut included eight extra minutes of in-depth plot development, with scenes that drove home Harry’s hatred for Spider-Man, Mary Jane Watson being challenged by a friend over her decision to get married, Doctor Octopus’ introduction, and more.

Ray Nutt, Fathom Entertainment’s chief executive officer, spoke about the celebration, calling attention to the power of fandom and the long-lasting impact that Raimi’s Spider-Man had on the film industry and paving the way for the modern superhero movie experience.

“The success of Spider-Man in 2002 helped launch the modern era of superhero films. To this day, Tobey Maguire’s take on Spider-Man resonates across generations,” said Nutt in a press release from Fathom Entertainment. “At Fathom Entertainment, we celebrate fandom, and I am delighted that Spider-Man 2.1 in 4K will make its theatrical debut, a true gift for longtime fans and a thrilling discovery for new ones.”

Spider-Man isn’t the first film franchise to receive the Fathom fan-favorite treatment. Classics like the Harry Potter franchise and the Indiana Jones franchise received the rerelease treatment. Furthermore, Fathom is scheduled to celebrate Studio Ghibli’s 40th anniversary from July to Nov., rereleasing movies like Ponyo, Howl’s Moving Castle, Spirited Away, and more.
