Two restaurants in the Los Angeles area have received one of the top honors in fine dining: a three-star rating by the Michelin Guide, something no other L.A. restaurant has ever achieved.
Chef Michael Cimarusti’s seafood-focused restaurant Providence and Aitor Zabala’s Spanish restaurant Somni received the top honors, an improvement over each’s two previous stars.
But even after these high honors, the Michelin Guide was far from done with Los Angeles, Eater reports.
Three restaurants received two stars:

- Vespertine
And 30 restaurants received one star:

- Heritage
- Holbox
- Kali

- Morihiro

- Orsa & Winston
- Osteria Mozza
- Pasta Bar
- Rebel Omakase
- The Restaurant at Justin
- Restaurant Ki
- Shibumi
- Shin Sushi
- Silvers Omakase
- Six Test Kitchen
- Sushi Inaba Restaurant
- Sushi Kaneyoshi
- Uka at Japan House
Michelin also designates 44 restaurants in the L.A. area as bib gourmand, meaning they offer high-quality food at a reasonable price.
