Meta announced today that it is making a limited edition of its Quest 3S headset in collaboration with Xbox. The Xbox Edition is a bundle that comes with a Quest 3S headset, an Elite Strap, Touch Plus controllers and an Xbox Wireless Controller, all in the distinctive Xbox colors of Carbon Black and Velocity Green. The collaboration highlights the catalog of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Cloud Gaming, the latter of which is available on the platform. The Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition launches today for $399.99, and will be available for a limited time.
According to Meta, this is the first limited edition of a Quest headset, though it has collaborated with Xbox for years. The Xbox app launched on Quest in 2023, offering users access to the Cloud Gaming beta available through Game Pass Ultimate. The current library of cloud-supported titles currently numbers over 100, and this Quest 3S comes with 3 months of Game Pass Ultimate included (as well as 3 months of Meta Horizon+).
The titles available via cloud streaming include South of Midnight, Avowed and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. Players can use both the Touch Plus controllers and any Xbox controllers, though the Xbox controller that comes with the bundle is pre-paired with the headset.
Lori Wright, Xbox’s corporate VP of gaming partnerships and business development, said in the announcement post: “We’re proud of what we’ve built together with Meta, and we can’t wait for you to dive into everything the Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition has to offer. Whether you’re streaming the latest Xbox Game Pass Ultimate titles, exploring the ever-expanding world of VR, or kicking back with immersive entertainment, this is just the beginning of what’s possible when great teams and great technology come together.”
