- It’s a limited release and, according to the brands, “once it’s gone, it’s gone.”
Meta and Xbox have teamed up to deliver something special, announcing today the Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition – a limited-edition take on the Meta’s mixed-reality headset, which launched late last year.
The tech giants have come together to release a bundle that comes with a custom-made Meta Quest 3S headset in Xbox’s signature “Carbon Black” and “Velocity Green” color palette, together with matching Touch Plus controllers and Elite Strap. It also includes – for the first time – an Xbox controller in the box, which comes pre-paired with the headset for ease of use right out of the box. The controller – itself arriving in a new, limited edition color – is also fully compatible with multiple other gaming devices including both the Xbox Series X and Series S, and Macs and PCs.
It’s not the first time the two have collaborated, though: the Xbox app for Quest launched a couple of years ago, allowing gamers to stream a huge catalogue of titles “on a massive 26-foot virtual display” through the Quest headset via Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta). As part of its ongoing “Play Anywhere” campaign, Microsoft, which owns the Xbox brand, has been pushing to turn any digital display into an Xbox. And, to get gamers going right away, the company is also including three months worth of its Game Pass Ultimate membership with each bundle.
The limited-edition Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition is available to buy now via Meta or Xbox priced at £379.99 GBP / $399.99 USD. But hurry, because “once it’s gone, it’s gone,” according to the brands.
