Summary

  • Debuting at Copenhagen’s 3daysofdesign, FRAMA has launched its new Petit Rond seating series, designed by Troels Grum-Schwensen.
  • The series features a stool and chair made from lightweight stainless steel, offering ergonomic comfort and a sleek accent to various indoor and outdoor spaces.

Copenhagen-based brand FRAMA took to the Danish city’s 3daysofdesign festival to unveil the latest addition to its seating assortment, the Petit Rond series. Based on an original design by Troels Grum-Schwensen, the Petit Rond chairs and stools offer ergonomic comfort and sleek style with the slimmest profile possible.

The line draws its name, “small circle” in French, from the literal small circle that forms the seat of the stainless steel chairs and stools. Characterized by a pared-back modernism and gentle human sensibility, the designer had initially created the seating for a café and gallery space adapted from a former industrial space on the island of Møn in south-eastern Denmark.

Troels Grum-Schwensen approached the original concept with “a commitment to finding points of balance between character and function,” rather than compromising the design’s integrity. The brand notes that among the strongest qualities is the careful positioning of the back and seat, which offers the user optimal support. Depending on the desired end use, FRAMA has offered each piece with leather upholstered seats for added comfort and an organic touch.

With its chrome materiality, the Petit Rond series expands on FRAMA’s popular assortment of stainless steel and aluminum-based furniture and decor. Among the label’s signature collections is the Rivet Series, featuring aluminum case goods in striking geometric shapes. Depending on the desired end use, FRAMA is also offering each Petit Rond piece with leather upholstered seats for added comfort and an organic touch.

See the gallery above for a closer look at FRAMA’s Petit Rond collection. Shop the collection now at the brand’s official web store.
