Prince Harry is offering King Charles III and Prince William an “olive branch” by inviting them to the 2027 Invictus Games.
An emailed invitation will be sent to Harry’s estranged father and brother later this month, followed by a formal invitation, the Daily Mail reported Monday.
“Harry has agreed that Invictus should extend an invitation to his family,” a source told the outlet Monday. “Invictus hopes the royal family will come along to support the wounded veterans taking part.”
The insider said Harry, 40, is “hopeful” his dad will set aside their differences to support the biennial sports competition for wounded, sick or injured service people and veterans.
“The royals have always been hugely supportive of Invictus and proud of what Harry has achieved in that arena. This is one olive branch from him which might be reciprocated,” the source said.
The advanced timing of the invite was reportedly designed to give royal family members the best chance of attending, as Charles’ schedule starts filling up three years in advance.
However, it’s unclear if the king will be able to attend the event as the 2027 Invictus Games are scheduled to kick off on July 10 that year and wrap on Queen Camilla’s 80th birthday, July 17.

Page Six confirmed that no invites have been issued to anyone yet, whether they be friends, family, government, military, sponsors, or other VIPs, as the event is more than two years out. We also learned that the invite list is decided by the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 team and not Harry.
Harry’s attempt to reconcile with his older brother and their dad inspired mixed reactions from royal experts.
“The king might attend to show support for the armed forces and congratulate Harry on the most significant success in his life,” royal biographer Ingrid Seward told the Daily Mail.
“The only reason the king is wary of associating with his son is that he no longer trusts him not to repeat their private conversations as he has done in the past,” she said, adding, “This goes for all the working members of the family.”
Royal commentator Katie Nicholl upheld Charles’ intention to make amends with the Duke of Sussex.
“The king absolutely wants a relationship with his youngest son and with his grandchildren,” Nicholl said, referring to Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, whom Harry shares with Meghan Markle.
“He has an incredible capacity for forgiveness and he wants to be magnanimous in all of this and therefore there’s certainly a possibility that the king might consider attending Invictus.”
In May, Harry shared in a bombshell interview that he was “desperate” to bury the hatchet with his dad, 76.
“[Charles] won’t speak to me because of this security stuff,” Harry told BBC News, referring to his failed court battle for publicly funded security for his family during visits to the UK.
“But it would be nice to reconcile,” Harry added.
Harry has been on the outs with his family since he and Markle, 43, resigned from their royal duties and moved to California in 2020.
The As Ever founder and her husband have since conducted several bombshell interviews bashing the royal family. Harry also aired their dirty laundry in his 2023 memoir, “Spare.”
