Dog Owner Asks Groomer For ‘The Standard’ Cut, Unprepared For New Look

Many of us have had our fair share of bad haircuts over the years, and now Lulu the toy caboodle has also joined that list after a very unfortunate trip to the groomers.

Dog owner Amit Sharma, 26, shared a hilarious post on TikTok (@thisisasharma) showing what Lulu looked like when he dropped her off at the groomers, before revealing the drastic comparison of the dog he picked up.

Lulu’s thick coat of fluffy brown fur was cut right back to a very short layer all over, except for the top of her head which remained hysterically voluminous. Her new look certainly caught Sharma by surprise, as he told Newsweek that it took him about “five minutes to process her hair” when he saw it.

Sharma, of Sydney, Australia, said: “I was shocked in a funny and weird way because I just knew my mom would’ve been even more shocked. I think I’m banned from taking her for a haircut again now.”

Lulu’s winter haircut may not have gone quite to plan, but social media users can’t get enough of her unexpected new do. Since the comparison was shared on TikTok, it’s gone viral with over 1.7 million views and more than 155,800 likes at the time of writing.

Thankfully for Lulu, her fur has already started to grow back and she’s looking “much better now” according to Sharma. However, next time he takes her to the groomers, he’ll be sure to be more specific about what trim she needs, rather than just simply saying “the standard” like last time.

Sharma didn’t realize it was even possible for dogs to have bad haircuts prior to this—but he certainly knows it now. “She was quiet for 2 days after. I think she saw some things inside the hair salon,” he told Newsweek.

Although internet users may have been laughing at Lulu’s expense (we’ve all been there), Sharma is delighted that his sweet pup could bring a smile to so many people’s faces.

After all, Lulu could easily pull off any new hairstyle anyway.

Since the post went viral in May, plenty of TikTok users took to the comments section to laud Lulu’s completely new appearance. This has led to more than 740 comments on the TikTok post so far, with some even insisting that it must be two different dogs.

One comment reads: “Looking like he might go sign the Declaration of Independence.”

Another TikTok user wrote: “You sure that’s the same dog?”

Another person joked: “His villain origin story.”

While one commenter added: “The crimes that were committed!”
