Indianapolis Colts star quarterback Anthony Richardson left the NFL world reeling when it was revealed he was feeling soreness in his throwing shoulder. The concern became much larger considering he suffered an AC joint sprain that required surgery to repair.

Richardson would eventually fly to Los Angeles to consult with the surgeon who performed the AC joint procedure to determine if he was experiencing any kind of setback from the surgery.

With training camp rapidly approaching, Richardson has provided a massive update on his shoulder injury.

Former #Gators QB Anthony Richardson told me he will be ready for #Colts training camp after missing minicamp with a throwing shoulder injury.”I’m all good … not really even a bump in the road. I feel like I tripped, I fell. Just got back up and hit the ground running again.”

Richardson told Zach Goodall of 247 Sports that he is ready to go.

“I’m all good … not really even a bump in the road. I feel like I tripped, I fell. Just got back up and hit the ground running again,” Richardson stated.

It appears that the shoulder soreness he was feeling was merely a “bump” in the road, and that he is going to be ready to go for training camp. The Colts will open training camp to rookies on July 21 and to veterans on July 22.

Richardson will report on July 22, given that he is a veteran. Hopefully, the injury concerns surrounding him will also be done away with when he begins training camp with the team.

Richardson has had a tough first couple of seasons in the NFL. During his rookie season, he appeared in four games before suffering the aforementioned AC joint sprain.

Richardson was named the starting quarterback before the 2023 season began, but he was quickly shut down following news of the severity of his injury.

The initial hope was that he could return following the one to two-month timeline, but it was announced in October 2023 that he would be shut down for the remainder of the season.

During the 2024 season, Richardson came back but missed Weeks 5 and 6 due to suffering an oblique injury. Following the new injury setback, he shockingly took himself out of the game in Week 8, leading to him being benched in favor of veteran Joe Flacco.

Flacco did not inspire much confidence with his play and the two losses that followed, leading to Richardson being named the starter in Week 11 for the remainder of the season.

Now, Richardson has once again drummed up injury concerns, as the shoulder injury leading to his minicamp was beginning to cause even more concern. However, it appears the young signal caller wanted everyone to know that the injury is now behind him.

Richardson has thrown 2,391 yards, 11 touchdowns, 13 interceptions, and rushed for 635 yards and 10 touchdowns in two seasons.
