President Donald Trump said Saturday that the U.S. military struck three sites in Iran, directly joining Israel ’s effort to decapitate the country’s nuclear program in a risky gambit to weaken a longtime foe amid Tehran’s threat of reprisals that could spark a wider regional conflict.
Addressing the nation from the White House, President Donald Trump asserted that Iran’s key nuclear were “completely and fully obliterated.” There was no independent damage assessment. It was not clear whether the U.S. would continue attacking Iran alongside its ally Israel, which has been engaged in a nine-day war with Iran.

Arizona Rep. Yassamin Ansari said President Donald Trump acted “illegally” when the U.S. struck three nuclear sites in Iran on Saturday.
“Donald Trump illegally took military action against Iran — without congressional authorization — risking dragging us into another endless war,” the congresswoman wrote on Bluesky. “I am calling for an immediate emergency session of Congress to vote on the War Powers Resolution.”
Husband of woman who died in Gilbert hospice care arrested
A 46-year-old man was arrested for allegedly killing his wife who was in Gilbert hospice care, authorities said on June 12.
Gilbert police responded to a hospice care facility located near Lindsay and Williams Field roads just after 9 a.m. on June 11. Memory care staff had reported to authorities that a 58-year-old woman had “suspicious bruising and markings” when she was found dead that morning around 3 a.m.
Arizona accounting clerk sentenced to 5 years for embezzling from business, charity
An accounting clerk who embezzled over $100,000 from an Arizona charity organization and a local business was sentenced to five years in prison on Thursday, authorities said.
In April, a jury found 38-year-old Prescott resident Sheena Holmes guilty of theft over $25,000 and theft over $100,000, according to the Yavapai County Attorney’s Office.
Her sentence for the crimes includes seven years of probation following her prison term.
Gov. Katie Hobbs says any partisan state budget will ‘meet my veto pen’ ahead of deadline
With the 2025-26 state budget deadline looming, Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs is staunchly against “any kind of partisan ‘continuation budget,’” according to a statement she released Saturday.
“I remain committed to having conversations about improving our bipartisan budget, but let me be clear: any kind of partisan ‘continuation budget’ will immediately meet my veto pen, if it even has the votes to reach my desk,” Hobbs said on X.
