The 2025 Gold Cup continues on Sunday, with the USMNT taking on Haiti in its second game of the competition.
Team USA opened its 2025 Gold Cup with a resounding 5-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago, in which PSV winger Malik Tillman bagged a brace, scoring goals in the 16th and 41st minutes. The other goal-scorers for Team USA in the win were Brenden Aaronson, Patrick Agyemang and Haji Wright in what was a comfortable start-to-finish win, a needed one considering the Americans had lost their prior four matches. Then, Team USA faced Saudi Arabia in its second match of the competition.

As you may recall, Saudi Arabia boasts a surprisingly tough soccer team, as they were the only team to defeat Argentina in the 2022 World Cup. Even so, the Americans took home the victory, defeating Saudi Arabia 1-0 on Thursday behind a 63rd-minute goal by Crystal Palace defender Chris Richards.
After those two results, Team USA locked up its spot in the knockout round of the 2025 Gold Cup, boasting six points through two matches, to Saudi Arabia’s three points. The group is rounded out by Haiti and Trinidad and Tobago, who each boast one point apiece. Both countries still have a chance to advance; all they need to do is win and see Saudi Arabia lose to get past the group stage.
