Mexico’s 2025 Gold Cup campaign has gotten off to a solid, albeit shaky, start as although the country is undefeated in the competition, they haven’t exactly passed their first two tests with flying colors, merely defeating the Dominican Republic 3-2 and Suriname 2-0. Scoring for Mexico in the win over the Dominican Republic were Edson Alvarez, Raul Jimenez, and Cesar Montes. In their win over Suriname, Mexico was led by Cesar Montes, who bagged a brace, scoring goals in the 57th and 63rd minutes of action.

Tonight, however, Mexico actually faces a huge test, as Costa Rica is one of the better teams in CONCACAF, one that boasts six points through two group-stage matches. Costa Rica opened its 2025 Gold Cup campaign with a 4-3 win over Suriname, with goals scored by Alonso Martinez, Manfred Ugalde, and Josimar Alcocer. Then, Costa Rica defeated the Dominican Republic 2-1 with goals scored by Ugalde and Alcocer.

Will Mexico end its 2025 Gold Cup campaign with an undefeated record? Or will rival Costa Rica take home the win tonight over Mexico? Find out on Sunday night when the two CONCACAF giants square off on the soccer pitch.

Tune in to FOX Sports 1 at 10:00 p.m. ET on Sunday night to catch the biggest game of the first day of the 2025 Gold Cup, an exciting matchup between Mexico and Costa Rica.
