A huge surge in tourism to Puerto Rico this summer is being fueled by Bad Bunny’s decision to play 30 consecutive concerts on his home turf.

The singer has sold more than 400,000 tickets to his “No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí” (I Don’t Want to Leave Here) shows starting on July 11 and running until Sept. 14 at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Variety reports.

The first nine of those shows are for locals only. The remaining 21 dates are expected to draw more than 200,000 visitors flying into the island from around the world.

Glorianna Yamín, vice president of marketing at Discover Puerto Rico, told USA Today that the residency is a “peak period for tourism.”

ForwardKeys reported that the week following the announcement, flight searches to Puerto Rico jumped to over 510,000.

“The idea for the residency was always there, for as long as I can remember,” he told Variety. “But it became difficult to ignore, the more time passed. I’ll admit, it was hard to complete my last tour, because all I wanted to do was move into this chapter.”

In November, the “MONACO” singer will embark on a 56-date world tour. It will start in the Dominican Republic and end in Belgium by July 2026. However, the singer won’t be making any stops within the United States this time.

When Variety’s Thania Garcia asked why, the singer said two words: “It’s unnecessary.”

He then explained that his U.S. fans had ample opportunities to see him over the past six years.

Meanwhile, Bad Bunny’s residency is slated to fuel about $200,000 million in tourism profits across Puerto Rico.
