HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Huntsville Utilities is providing an easier way for customers to manage their bills and services.

Huntsville Utilities is encouraging all customers to download the new app, HSVUTIL, on August 11. Officials said that customers can recognize the new app by its green background.

Customers can delete the old app, HU Mobile, as the company said it will no longer be supported.

The new app will provide customers with access to SmartHub, which will allow you to view your energy usage, view statements, and pay your bill.

Additionally, in the new app, customers may also pay a utility bill with a debit or credit card without any transactions fees.

The  HSVUTIL mobile app will offer the following benefits for customers:

  • Billing & Payments: No more waiting for your bill to arrive in the mail, access your bill at anytime from anywhere. Save time with easy payment options to avoid late fees and service interruptions.
  • Alerts & Notifications: Stay informed on important account events via email or text messages. Receive the information you need to make the right decisions about your account.
  • Paperless Billing: What if you could save some time and a tree at the same time? Activate SmartHub paperless billing, an eco-friendly way to instantly access your bill.
  • Usage Monitoring: Worrying about usage or surprising bill amounts can be stressful. With access to this information, you can be in control and make decisions that can help reduce your bill.

“The HSVUTIL app gives you complete control over your account by giving you the tools that deliver the right information at the right time so you can make the right decisions about your account.”

As Huntsville Utilities continues to change to their new enterprise software system, the company also said some payment options may be delayed in posting to customers’ accounts.

Huntsville Utilities said that any late fees charged due to delayed posting will be waived.

Any customer on the current Bank Draft Auto Pay system, your payment details will automatically transfer to the new system.

Customers can download the HSVUTIL app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
