A Torrance man is facing multiple charges after he was identified as the person who allegedly placed hidden cameras in the bathroom and changing room of a children’s dance studio in Hermosa Beach.

Jourdyn Godoy, 25, worked as the receptionist at the Hermosa School of Dance and Music in the 1100 block of Aviation Boulevard, where cameras hidden in wicker baskets were found last month.

On Tuesday, he was charged with a felony count of possession of child pornography and misdemeanor charges of child annoyance and invasion of privacy, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said in a news release.

“To invade a child’s privacy in a place where they should feel completely safe is a grotesque violation of trust, safety, and basic human decency,” Hochman said. “We will do everything in our power to hold this individual fully accountable. No child — or adult — should have to worry about being secretly recorded in such a private space.”

His is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center, and prosecutors want his bail set at $55,000.

Jail records show bail is currently set at $100,000.

If convicted of all charges, he faces up to four years in state prison.
