PHOENIX — Summer might be bringing blazing heat to metro Phoenix, but the nights are about to glow with a trio of after-dark sky shows.
This year’s Phoenix fireworks show season will kick off June 21 with After Dark in the Park. The fireworks show from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. will take place at Deer Valley Park on 19th Avenue south of Beardsley Road.
While this event has been running for years, 2025 marks an innovative change: event organizers will feature a drone light show rather than fireworks in an effort to be eco-friendly.
The new drone show begins at 8:45 p.m. It will feature a synchronized light display choreographed to music.
Food trucks and live entertainment, games and an inflatable fun zone will keep visitors occupied between the flashing lights and colorful sparkles.
Guests are encouraged to arrive early and bring folding chairs and picnic baskets so they can find the best viewing spots.

Two more shows will provide free fireworks and family fun next month.
A West Valley event called Light Up the Sky will take place on July 3.
From 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., American Family Fields of Phoenix will host live entertainment, games and food vendors. Fireworks at the free show will start at 9:10 p.m.
There’s also the Fabulous Phoenix 4th on Independence Day.
The patriotic event, which is held at Steele Indian School Park at 3rd Street and Indian School Road, will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
There will be various attractions:
- A kid’s zone with inflatables, water slides and games for kids.
- A teen zone with a dance floor, yard games and inflatables.
- Live entertainment.
- An ice cream eating contest.
- A car show featuring classic cars from a local car club.
There’s no public parking at the event, but there are three pedestrian entrances.
Event organizers encourage attendees to buy all-day passes for $4 each to avoid long lines at fare-vending machines.
