When FromSoftware revealed the Revenant class in Elden Ring Nightreign, I was certain she’d be embraced by fans for her doll-like design, unique power set, and bare feet. But Nightreign players have latched onto the necromancer for other reasons entirely, transforming her into a rabid attack dog who wields colossal weapons and is ready and willing to destroy anything in her path — including her Nightfarer friends.
Elden Ring Nightreign players have dubbed this interpretation of the Revenant “La Creatura,” repurposing previously existing (and far less savory) memes to give the class a new identity: that of a feral gremlin.
In game, the Revenant is presented as a dreamy blue-eyed maiden with porcelain skin and white hair who wears a crown of flowers and plays a magical lyre. But as Nightreign players recognized that the Revenant’s high faith stat aligned with some of the game’s colossal weapons (e.g., Envoy’s Greathorn, Troll’s Hammer), and that her diminutive size when paired with a giant stone hammer was hilarious, a meme was born.
It also helps that the Revenant is prickly as hell. Her limited in-game dialogue is full of quiet rage. She radiates bloodlust and revenge, and seems disgusted by your presence. And she’ll revive a near-death Nightfarer with a Giant-Crusher, no questions asked.
Now we have La Creatura, a being who has spawned dozens of fan art interpretations and cemented the Revenant Nightfarer class as Elden Ring Nightreign’s best meme. Here are some of the highlights.
