Former NBA lottery pick Michael Beasley has been calling out players of late, challenging them to different matchups on the court. Beasley just made waves after taking down former NBA forward Lance Stephenson in a 1v1 matchup.

But Beasley is now looking at a former NBA star for his next challenge. During a recent live stream, Beasley called out Carmelo Anthony, challenging him to a 1v1 matchup as well.
Well, Anthony heard the challenge from Beasley and has now responded. On a recent episode of his podcast ‘7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony’, the former star addressed Beasley and called him out.
“Let me clear this up, I’m not losing a one-on-one game, bro, I’m not. I’ve never lost a one-on-one game. I’m not saying I’m going out there playing, but I’m saying I did this. I got ridiculed for doing this s-t at the highest level, for being a one-on-one —–. So I’m not going out there playing one-on-one, I want to sit there and support a —– like Beas for the culture.”
Anthony also made it clear that he was retired from basketball, so he wouldn’t likely take the challenge from Beasley. Beasley, on the other hand, has been competing in the Big3 League, allowing him to keep a basketball career going following his time in the NBA.
Many NBA fans would love to see the matchup, but it may not be fair since Anthony doesn’t play anymore. However, in the prime of their careers, this wouldn’t even be a close call.
Anthony is one of the best scorers in NBA history, and dominated in isolation basketball during his career. The former star averaged 22.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.0 steals over his long NBA tenure.
The 10-time All-Star last played in the 2021-22 season with the Los Angeles Lakers. Anthony then called it quits and has turned to podcasting to stay in touch with the game.
Beasley, on the other hand, never lived up to the extreme hype that followed him into the league from college. The forward averaged 12.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 0.6 steals per game.
The former second-overall pick never made an All-Star team despite all his talent on the court. Beasley last played in the NBA during the 2018-19 season, also with the Lakers.
