Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman was spotted dining with President Trump’s ex-top strategist Steve Bannon at a top “MAGA hangout” on Capitol Hill earlier this week on his 17th anniversary.
Fetterman (D-Pa.) was seen at the Washington, DC, bistro Butterworth’s on Monday dining with Breitbart’s Matt Boyle and Bannon, who was there for about 20 minutes, according to Politico Playbook.
Bannon, who hosts the “War Room” podcast, a favorite among the MAGA faithful, has long been viewed as a boogeyman among Democrats.
But Fetterman hasn’t been shy about interacting with top MAGA world figures, even if doing so enrages his base. In January, he trekked down to Mar-a-Lago to meet with then-President-elect Donald Trump, becoming a rare Democrat to do so.
Earlier this month, he attended a bipartisan forum with fellow Pennsylvania Sen. Dave McCormick, a Republican.
The hulking Keystone State senator also hasn’t been shy about punching at the left flank of his party and ripping into progressives. He’s been particularly outspoken in defense of Israel and this week denounced the rioting over the illegal immigrant raids in Los Angeles.
“I unapologetically stand for free speech, peaceful demonstrations, and immigration—but this is not that. This is anarchy and true chaos,” Fetterman posted on X Monday.
“My party loses the moral high ground when we refuse to condemn setting cars on fire, destroying buildings, and assaulting law enforcement.”

It is unclear whether Fetterman’s warning to Democrats about the rioting in Los Angeles came before or after his dinner with Bannon.
Details of what was discussed during their night out at Butterworth’s are not clear.
The Post reached out to reps for Fetterman and Bannon for comment.
Monday was Fetterman’s 17th anniversary with wife Gisele, whom he tied the knot with in 2008, according to an interview she gave with Philly Magazine two years ago.
Gisele, who has kept a low profile over recent months, has an upcoming memoir, “Radical Tenderness: The Value of Vulnerability in an Often Unkind World,” in which she opens up about her marriage.
At one point, she recounted a conversation with her son, who asked about whether his parents would divorce.
“Once, after Karl came home from a sleepover, he jumped in the car and shared that his friend’s parents were getting divorced. The friend was devastated, he said. ‘Would you and Dad ever get divorced?’ he asked,” she wrote, according to an excerpt previewed by Chronicles Magazine earlier this week.
“John and I responded at the same time from the front seat. ‘No,’ said John. ‘Maybe,’ I responded. John was, understandably, surprised by my response. But I explained that, though I loved him and hoped we’d always be together, I wanted to be realistic and honest with the kids about all of life’s possibilities.”
