It’s back to Cousins Beach one more time. The Summer I Turned Pretty, the multigenerational drama and coming-of-age story focusing on Isabel “Belly” Conklin, will return for its third and final season on Wednesday, July 16 on Prime Video. While there’s nothing to celebrate about it being the end of the series, the good news is that there are more episodes in season 3 (11 in total) than there had been in seasons one and two. And now, with the final season premiering next month, Prime Video has released the official trailer. (Watch it, below.)

To recap, season two ended with Belly (Lola Tung) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) happily together as he cheered her on from the sidelines of her volleyball camp. Season 3 will pick up a couple years later, as Belly finishes up her junior year of college and is gearing up for another summer in Cousins. She’s still very much together with Jeremiah (as you’ll see from the teaser trailer below), and even if you’re not a committed Jelly fan, there’s no denying their swoon-worthy moments. However, things get majorly complicated when Conrad reenters the picture due to some unforeseen circumstances. And once again, Belly must look inward to decide which brother is the right man for her.

On June 11, we finally got the official trailer for the final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty, and it’s loaded (Belly and Jeremiah are getting married, her mom doesn’t approve, etc.). Take a look, and then we’ll talk about it after the break:

For one, ‘Daylight’ from the album Lover and ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’ from the album Red (Taylor’s Version) by Taylor Swift are featured in the trailer. Two, we still don’t know if the entire season is being released all at once, weekly, or in two batches (we will of course let you know when that’s announced). Three, there’s a memorial to mark Susannah’s passing, and it’s at the gathering after that Belly and Jeremiah let Laurel know they’re getting married. When Laurel doesn’t take well to it, it seems that’s when Belly starts to have doubts (understandably). She also still can’t get Conrad out of her mind, so the rest of the trailer plays out with Belly stuck in state of confusion about her love life (again, understandably). We also see Belly looking at her infinity necklace that Conrad had given her, and oof, what is a girl to do?

Obviously, we’ll be waiting with bated breath until July 16. Meanwhile, read on for everything else we know about the final season.

Last month, Prime Video released the teaser trailer, which features “Daylight” from Taylor Swift’s album Lover and “Red (Taylor’s Version)” from the Red (Taylor’s Version) album.

Gosh, how we missed this show. It’s been two years since we last got new episodes of the series, so naturally fans (and me) have been waiting impatiently for more. While the official season 3 trailer has yet to be released—that’s different than the teaser trailer, which we saw above—we do have several new pictures, along with the key art. Behold:

Also, the new cover of Jenny Han’s We’ll Always Have Summer, featuring Lola Tung, Chris Briney, and Gavin Casalegno, was just revealed on May 5. The paperback edition of Han’s third and final book will be available for purchase on Amazon and everywhere books are sold on Tuesday, June 3. Amazon will also offer an exclusive hardcover edition that will be available on Thursday, June 12 (both are available for preorder here).

So what else do we know about the upcoming final season? Read on for everything, and we’ll continue to keep you updated as more announcements come through.

Will all episodes of The Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 premiere at once?

It has not yet been announced if the entire season will be available at once on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, or if it will be a weekly rollout as before. There’s also a possibility it could be split into two parts. We’ll keep you posted on those details as soon as they are announced.

Meanwhile, it was a year ago, on May 14, 2024, that Jennifer Salke (now the former head of Amazon MGM Studios) announced that season 3 would debut in summer 2025, but made no mention that the season would be the final one. At the upfront presentation for Prime Video, Salke was joined by The Summer I Turned Pretty creator, showrunner, and author Jenny Han, and series regulars Lola Tung, Christopher Briney, and Gavin Casalegno.

They also released this clip at the time:

How many episodes will there be?

There will be 11 hour-long episodes in season 3. Season 1 consisted of only seven episodes and season 2 had eight.

Which cast members will return for season 3?

Obviously Lola Tung (Belly), Christopher Briney (Conrad), Gavin Casalegno (Jeremiah), Sean Kaufman (Steven), Rain Spencer (Taylor), and Jackie Chung (Laurel). As for additional guest stars, we’ll keep you posted.

What else do we know about season 3?

Here’s the official synopsis for the final season: “It’s the end of her junior year of college, and Belly’s looking forward to another summer in Cousins with her soulmate, Jeremiah. Her future seems set, until some core-shaking events bring her first love Conrad back into her life. Now on the brink of adulthood, Belly finds herself at a crossroads and must decide which brother has her heart. Summer will never be the same….”

The final season will be led by showrunners Jenny Han and Sarah Kucserka. Also, Han, Kucserka, and Karen Rosenfelt serve as executive producers, along with Hope Hartman, Mads Hansen, and Paul Lee for Wiip. The series is a coproduction of Amazon Studios and Wiip.

We’ll update this post as more information is released.
