EXCLUSIVE: William Levy’s new series Arcadia will play on Comcast and Paramount Global-owned streamer SkyShowtime in Europe.
SkyShowtime will launch the Spanish-language series as an Original later this year across its 22-country footprint. The SVOD service gets the best of its owners’ U.S. fare, meaning Arcadia will sit alongside a lineup that includes the juggernaut Yellowstone franchise and the likes of The Day Of The Jackal.
It has been bolstering its slate of original dramas and docs, with Arcadia the latest addition. The six-parter stars Levy (Montecristo) and Paula Echevarría (Velvet).
It tells the story of Pablo (Levy), who seemingly has it all and is living a quiet life in the Canary Islands, in the peaceful town of Arcadia. Pablo, however, has a dark and dangerous past. Once living on the edge in Mexico, he escaped a life of violence after becoming a father. The wife he left behind has never forgiven him and has now returned, ready to shatter the world he’s built.
Kai Finke, Chief Content Officer at SkyShowtime, said: “We can’t wait for audiences to discover Arcadia, our new SkyShowtime Original series. An impactful story that has all the ingredients to engage from start to finish; action, love and revenge, combined with a compelling cast.”
Arcadia is produced by Secuoya Studios in association with Televisa/Univision streamer ViX and SkyShowtime. It is directed by Jorge Saavedra and written by Lidia Fraga and Jacobo Díaz. Levy is an exec producer alongside David Martínez, Sergio Pizzolante, Carlos Portela, and Jeff Goldberg.
SkyShowtime’s other Spanish originals include Shades and the upcoming series Nails.
