EXCLUSIVE: Sarah Bolger (Mayans M.C.) has been set to star in psychological horror Nervous, opposite Asung Ko (Snowpiercer) and Sungsoo Yune (Strong Girl Nam-soon).
Filming is currently underway in and around Seoul, South Korea. Pic will be mostly English-language but also includes some Korean.
The film reunites Bolger with director Abner Pastoll, who previously directed her in crime-thriller A Good Woman Is Hard to Find.
Nervous is based on an original screenplay by Pastoll and co-writer Richard Hobley. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the film is described as a psychological horror about a woman “spiralling into a seductive nightmare beyond her control” as she navigates a troubled marriage and disorientating cultural terrain in the Korean countryside.
Junyoung Jang is producing alongside Pastoll via Seoul-based production company Story Robot, in association with February Films.
Co-producers include Joori Kim and Suho Lim. Executive producers include Youngmin Kim (Exhuma), Guillaume Benski (Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris), Lloyd Levin (Hellboy) and Beatriz Levin (Da 5 Bloods).
Bolger is best known for series including Mayans M.C. and Into The Badlands, and movies The Lazarus Effect and In America. Korean actress Asung Ko is best known for movies Snowpiercer and The Host and K series Life On Mars and Tracer.
Pastoll and Hobley are represented by Gotham Group. Bolger is represented by Independent Artist Group, Mosaic, and Accelerate.
