The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is releasing the names and photos of some of the immigrants who were detained in Los Angeles during raids on Saturday.
“America’s brave ICE officers are removing the worst of the worst from L.A.’s streets, while L.A.’s leaders are working tirelessly against them,” Homeland Security said on X.
The names and photos of six men from six different countries were released late Sunday morning:
Jose Cristobal Hernandez-Buitron
Hernandez-Buitron, 43, is a citizen of Peru. He has a criminal history that includes a robbery conviction that resulted in a ten-year sentence.
Chrissahdah Tooy
Tooy, 48, is a citizen of Indonesia. He has a criminal history that includes convictions for narcotics, DUI and illegal entry.
Jordan Mauricio Meza-Esquibel
Meza-Esquibel, 32, is a citizen of Honduras. He has a criminal history that includes arrests for domestic violence and heroin and cocaine distribution.
Francisco Sanchez-Arguello
Sanchez-Arguello, 38, is a citizen of Mexico. He has a criminal history that includes arrests for grand theft larceny and possession of a prohibited weapon.
Cuong Chanh Phan
Phan, 49, is a citizen of Vietnam. He has a criminal history that includes a second-degree murder conviction that carried a sentence of 15 years to life.
Rolando Veneracion-Enriquez
Veneracion-Enriquez, 55, is a citizen of the Philippines. He has a criminal history that includes convictions for theft, assault, burglary and rape.
Where each of the men are being held is not known.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass told KTLA on Sunday morning that many of the detainees who were initially being held in downtown L.A. have been taken to an ICE facility in Adelanto.
