Atomic Heart II is an action-adventure role-playing game set in a retrofuturistic alternate-history universe full of diverse opportunities, with a strong focus on narrative, RPG elements, and player freedom. The sequel to Atomic Heart introduces an all-new story unfolding in a living world, with the events now expanding to a global scale.
Built with Unreal Engine, the game’s inspirations included Atomic Heart itself, Bioshock, Bioshock Infinite, Cyberpunk 2077, Dying Light, Days Gone, Assassin’s Creed, Control and Metro Exodus.

Setting + Story

In this utopian world of wonders and perfection, humans lived in harmony with their loyal and fervent robots. However, what was meant to bring about an era of peace and prosperity at the hands of advanced robotics and AI, has spiraled into chaos. Atomic Heart II picks up with a world on the brink of collapse. It’s up to you to prevent it. The truth runs deeper than you think.
The backstory
Robert Bagratuni, CEO and founder of Mundfish, said in an interview with GamesBeat that Atomic Heart has crossed more than 10 million players to date and has been very successful as a new brand in gaming.
The company, now based in Cyprus, started in 2017, and the game came out in 2023. Now it is on Steam, Xbox and PlayStation. Three downloadable content packs have come out.
“These are spectacular results, especially for a new IP. What we always wanted to create was a new IP and put it in line with some famous franchises like BioShock, Doom and Fallout. That was the inspiration from the very first moment,” Bagratuni said. “I’m very happy to know that we finally did this. We spent five, six years in development. I am very happy we achieved this.”
