Five people from accused killer Bryan Kohberger‘s life in Pennsylvania have been called as defense witnesses for his upcoming murder trial in the fatal 2022 stabbings of four University of Idaho students.

Jesse Harris, who owns the boxing gym Kohberger used to train at, is one of the five being summoned to take the witness stand, according to court records.

Ann Parham, one of Kohberger’s former academic advisors, is also being called as a witness, according to court filings and a report.

Kohberger’s trial is set to start in August.

Ralph Vecchio, who worked at the auto shop Kohberger frequented has also been named as a potential witness along with Maggie Sanders and Brandon Andreola, according to the filings.

Sanders’ and Andreola’s relationships to Kohberger, 30, were unknown.

The five prospective witnesses have been instructed to attend a June 30 court hearing inside the Monroe County Courthouse in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.

During the hearing, each of the witnesses will have a chance to explain why they should not be compelled to testify in the out-of-state proceeding.

Kohberger is accused of killing four University of Idaho students.

Kohberger, a former graduate student in criminal justice at nearby Washington State University, is charged in the stabbing deaths of University of Idaho students Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves.

All four were found dead in a rental home near the school’s campus in Moscow, Idaho, on Nov. 13, 2022.

A not-guilty plea was entered on his behalf, and prosecutors said they intend to seek the death penalty if Kohberger’s convicted.
