San Diego opened this series with a 2-0 win on Friday. The scoring began in the top of the third inning, when Luis Arraez hit an RBI single off Chad Patrick to put the Padres in front.
The bats were relatively quiet until the top of the eighth, when the Padres got on the board once again with a solo home run from Manny Machado, his ninth homer of the 2025 season. He has now moved into the top 100 all-time in home runs.
Milwaukee recorded just four hits in the loss, with Brice Turang, Jackson Chourio, Christian Yelich, and Sal Frelick reaching base for the losing side.
For this game, the Padres are expected to send Stephen Kolek to the mound. He is 3-1 on the season with a 3.47 ERA. He’ll face Jose Quintana for the Brewers, who is 4-1 overall with a 2.77 ERA but has struggled a bit recently with a 5.28 ERA in his last three appearances.
