Country musician and the Emcee in Broadway’s Cabaret, Orville Peck, is ready for fisticuffs in Legendary Entertainment’s feature take of Capcom’s Street Fighter. The pic reps Peck’s feature film acting debut.

Peck joins Andrew Koji, Jason Momoa, Noah Centineo and Roman Reigns in the live-action take of the popular video game. Deadline first told you about that round of casting.

Pick, originally from South African, is known for wearing a mask and not showing his face publicly. Peck released his debut album “Pony” in 2019 followed by the EP “Show Pony” the following year. His second studio album “Bronco” was released in 2022, and then a third “Stampede” in 2024.

The story is under wraps, but can we at least say — it’s about street fighters. Launched in 1987, Street Fighter is a series of fighting games revolving around intense one-on-one battles between a diverse lineup of martial artists. The games often center around a global fighting tournament organized by M. Bison, the leader of the evil organization Shadaloo. The game has sold north of 55 million units around the world since launch.

Bad Trip‘s Kitao Sakurai is directing, having taken over the project from Bring Her Back filmmakers Danny & Michael Philippou. The film adaptation is being co-developed and co-produced alongside Capcom, the developer and publisher of the video games. No writers or producers are attached yet.

Peck is repped by Paradigm, Activist and Wasserman Music. InSneider first posted the news. Legendary declined comment on the casting.
