When she announced last Friday that she had finally purchased back the master recordings and all associated material for her first six albums, Taylor Swift wrote in an emotional letter posted to her website that she had “been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found out that this was really happening.”
Her boyfriend Travis Kelce, however, celebrated the news in his own way: Evidently, it makes him feel like dancing—and recruiting two fellow sports legends to do so.
On the latest episode of New Heights, the podcast Travis co-hosts with brother Jason Kelce, published Wednesday, the siblings hosted basketball hall of famer Shaquille O’Neal for a lengthy interview. There was a lot of baller talk, sure, but the most baller discussion came in the final seconds of the interview, when Shaq pulled out his phone during the outro and mumbled, “I gotta show you guys something. Two seconds.”
“Take your time,” Jason told him.
Time well spent: Shaq tapped the phone’s screen and Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble,” from her album Red, blasted out of its speaker. Immediately, all three men started shimmying and lip-syncing to the track.

“My favorite song in the world, brother!” Shaq declared.
Travis, never one to pass up a chance to show off his status as Swift’s No. 1 fan, proudly shot back, “Just got that song back, too, just bought all that music back too, so it’s finally hers.”
While it’s not immediately clear from the snippet whether the song inspiring the dance extravaganza is from the original Red or Red (Taylor’s Version), it doesn’t really matter: She owns them both now.
Shaq has long been a confirmed Swiftie, and even told Page Six ahead of the 2024 Super Bowl, in which Travis’ Kansas City Chiefs bested the San Francisco 49ers, that just meeting the singer would make the whole game experience a touchdown, no matter the outcome: “If I see Taylor Swift and get to shake her hand, take a picture, I’ll be good,” he said.
Mission accomplished: Shaq not only met Swift, but gifted her a bedazzled Judith Leiber purse, shaped like a football and customized with 87, Travis’ jersey number. Swift wore it to the game to accessorize her all-black look, and the former basketball player posted photos of himself grinning alongside Swift.
Jason, after the 2024 Super Bowl, recalled the atmosphere inside the suite packed with A-Listers where he and Swift sat: “Turns out, everyone wants to meet Taylor,” he said. “Shaq came in on the frickin’ suite. I mean, dude.”
“I think it was my first really understanding kind of some of the things that she has to deal with on a lot of bases because there’s so many star-studded people there that it’s like dude, everybody wants to come see her,” Jason said.
Travis added, “Taylor thrives in those situations, she’s been in ’em countless times in her life.”
Of course, Shaq and the boys aren’t the only ones having dance parties. Swift has been spotted out celebrating with friends, including getting dinner at New York City’s Monkey Bar with longtime pal Selena Gomez the day after she announced the sale. Frequent collaborator and friend Jack Antonoff, too, posted a video of himself and Swift (and one of her cats, Meredith, always key personnel) singing along to “Getaway Car,” a track from Reputation, which has not seen a re-release. “Rep forever guilt free listening!” he captioned the video.
