As the top swimmers in the nation start to gear up for the World Championships, the USA Swimming National Championships will serve as a trial run to see which competitors will secure a spot on the national team.
The 2028 Summer Olympic Games are still a ways off, but it is never too early for the athletes to start to be recognized as some of the most worthy candidates to make the team, and winning this sort of competition can go a long way in doing so.
Katie Ledecky, Gretchen Walsh, Regan Smith, Kate Douglass, Torri Huske, Simone Manuel, and Bobby Finke are some of the names to keep an eye on throughout the event.
Ledecky has established herself as a staple on the national team, winning 14 Olympic medals (nine gold) during her historic career. She is showing no signs of slowing down.
