(NewsNation) — After some quirks involving May’s Social Security payments, including three pay days for some recipients, scheduled payments for June should be back to normal.
Others started receiving bigger checks back in April due to the Social Security Fairness Act, which allows workers with pensions to receive their full benefit. However, when May rolled around, some recipients had still been waiting on that increase.
As of May, the agency said that complex cases that haven’t received the increase should be resolved by November. In 2025, roughly 73.9 million people — including seniors, adults and children — are expected to receive Social Security benefits, according to the Pew Research Center.
June Social Security payment schedule
If you want to know when you will receive your Social Security payment in June, you can find the agency’s retirement benefit schedule online for 2025 and 2026. The agency bases its payments on your birth date, with the following breakdown for June:
- Wednesday, June 11: Birth dates between the 1st and the 10th
- Wednesday, June 18: Birth dates between the 11th and 20th
- Wednesday, June 25: Birth dates between the 21st and 31st
Those who received two Supplemental Security Income (SSI) checks in May won’t receive one in June. The two-check month happened in May because June 1, which would have been a payment date, was a Sunday.
The rest of the schedule for SSI in 2025 is as follows:
- Tuesday, July 1
- Friday, August 1
- Friday, August 29
- Wednesday, October 1
- Friday, October 31
- Monday, December 1
- Wednesday, December 31
If you ever believe you are missing a payment, the agency recommends that you first contact your bank or financial institution. If they don’t see any delayed payments, you can call the SSA at 1-800-772-1213 or contact your local office.
You can use NewsNation’s Social Security calculator to estimate your benefits for each month.
