Pedro Pascal or Chris Evans? The Materialists asks that very question when it hits theaters mid-June. It has already divided the Glamour staff (though Pascal has the slight edge), and the question of “Who would you rather…?” will most likely dominate your group chat as well, as the two men fight over Dakota Johnson’s New York City matchmaker in the film. Pascal’s character seems like the perfect match, but…Evans plays her ex, and well, we all know how difficult it can be to let go of a past relationship.
The film is the latest from Academy Award–nominated writer and director Celine Song following her hit Past Lives and will arrive in theaters on Friday, June 13. If there was ever a film to see opening weekend this summer, I’m declaring this one to be it. (Plus, you don’t want to be spoiled over which suitor ends up with Johnson, do you?)
